The Spanish R&D and innovation ecosystem will meet on 13-14 February on Transfiere’s eighth edition, European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation. The meeting is ranked as the main Spanish event on innovation and knowledge exchange between research and companies; it will once again bring together the main scientific and technological agenda from the economy’s strategic sectors, such as aeronautics and aerospace, agrifood, energy, industry, infrastructure and transport, environment, health or information and communication technologies (ICT). It will also bring together initiatives, projects and lines of work from public administrations, innovative business groups and technology platforms.
This event is held at FYCMA (Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Malaga), which is he forum’s organizer, in conjunction with Malaga’s City Council, both will gather; the Economy, Knowledge, Business and University Council from the Regional Government in Andalusia, the Science, Innovation and University Ministry, along with many professionals from more than a thousand companies, which 150 of them will showcase at the exhibition area and 4.700 research groups will be present. By doing so, the forum makes up a business platform with the capacity of hosting more than 5.000 simultaneous meetings in just a day and a half; it is in fact, one of the main tools used to transfer research results to the commercial network by the innovative Spanish system.
In accordance with previous editions, the forum strengthens its dimension as a beacon of knowledge through the International Innovation Programme, where more than 200 international experts will take part in to discuss and explore the most updated and innovative agenda, which is linked to the digital economy paradigm. By doing so, the contents that are linked to the 4.0 industry or the disruptive digital transformation processes are strengthened, as observed by the Fintech model, along with technology analysis and systems such as blockchain or the Cryptocurrency phenomenon: bitcoin or token, which are for instance, a value unit issued by private institutions.
Cybersecurity in financial transactions, achievements and challenges in defense within the aeronautical and naval sectors, as well as new drone models which are applied in agriculture and R&D innovation projects will also be addressed. Artificial intelligence will be another significant pillar from the forum, which will spot opportunities as for robotization, automation and current legislation, as well as design as a groundbreaking lever along with its capacity to relocate business strategies and models.
